Honda has just announced the upcoming 2012 update to its compact Civic. While at first glance, the car as the current generation Civic can see from some angles, it is actually a complete update. And the new Civic hybrid will run better, too.
Civic fans have reason to celebrate later this year, when Honda launches multiple variants of the 2012 Civic model. The new non-hybrid HF-model has a better mileage than the current Civic Hybrid. Running on a 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine, EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers of 41 mpg highway.
In the meantime, the new 2012 Civic Hybrid with a Li-Ion battery is supplied with electricity and a 1.5-liter i-VTEC and CVT tranny poewrhouse. The hybrid version gets a rating of 45 mpg, which is about 4 mpg better than the current model.
Honda is also releasing a Civic powered by natural gas, so car buyers, their opportunity to have the usual gasoline-powered Civic, or green gas and hybrid Civics.
